That is a $2.23 million gross difference between the reported prices—not documented net profit, a verified increase in Collins’s personal net worth, or proof that she has started a house-flipping business.
What happened with Lily Collins’s Pasadena house?
Collins and McDowell bought Case Study House #10 in Pasadena from actor Kristen Wiig in 2021 for a reported $3.9 million, according to Architectural Digest. They later sold it in an off-market deal in late June 2025 for a reported $6.13 million, a sale reported by Architectural Digest and Mansion Global.
Subtracting the reported purchase price from the reported sale price gives a $2.23 million gross price spread. The reports do not provide the renovation budget, financing costs, sale expenses, taxes, or how proceeds were divided between the couple. That figure therefore cannot be treated as net profit or as an amount added to Collins’s personal wealth.
Was this a house-flipping gig?
The reporting describes a home Collins and McDowell lived in, renovated, and eventually sold. It does not establish that Collins took on a new job or launched a recurring house-flipping business. One renovation and resale do not, by themselves, demonstrate a professional role or an ongoing operation.

The home was a personal project with a substantial renovation. Vogue’s 2024 feature describes the couple working with interior designer Emily Farnham, restoring the concrete floors, adding a fourth bedroom, and bringing warm earth tones and Scandinavian-inspired details into the house. Collins described the intended look as “mid-century California meets Scandinavian.”
How does the Pasadena sale compare with Collins’s Beverly Hills sale?
Architectural Digest reported that Collins bought a Beverly Hills home for $12.5 million in 2016 and finalized its sale for $13.5 million in February 2021. Those figures imply a $1 million gross sale-price spread before costs. The publication’s 2021 account does not establish net profit, just as the Pasadena sale coverage does not establish it.

Why is Case Study House #10 notable?
Case Study House #10 is part of a program created to showcase innovative, inexpensive building methods amid the postwar housing shortage. The Los Angeles Times reported that Kemper Nomland and Kemper Nomland Jr. designed the Pasadena house in 1947. Its architectural history helps explain why the property attracted attention beyond its celebrity owners; it does not change what can be concluded from the sale prices. What is Lily Collins’s net worth?
The available coverage does not establish a current, verified net-worth figure for Collins or show how either home sale changed it. A 2022 FirstCuriosity article attributed a $25 million estimate to Celebrity Net Worth, but the figure is an older secondary estimate and the article does not disclose a method for calculating it. It should not be presented as a confirmed current value. The article documents that the estimate circulated, not that it is accurate: FirstCuriosity’s 2022 profile.
