Who is the surprise guest star in Season 3?
It is Jeri Ryan, reprising Tara Cole, a fellow grifter and friend of Sophie Devereaux. Ryan had played Tara in the original Leverage series, making this a return to the franchise. TV Insider reported on the episode and Ryan’s return on May 1, 2025: TV Insider’s interview with Jeri Ryan and the cast.
What happens in Tara’s episode?
In Season 3, Episode 5, “The Grand Complication Job,” Tara is with Sophie when Bligh, played by Lucy Taylor, kidnaps Sophie and sets Parker and Sophie’s stepdaughter Astrid against each other over a watch. Tara later calls Parker for help. The episode puts Tara into the crew’s watch-stealing caper: she grifts at a party, crawls through vents to steal the watch, and fights off attackers.
Ryan singled out the party sequence as her favorite, mentioning its costumes and wigs. The episode also gives Tara and Sophie time together. Gina Bellman said their shared scenes let the characters explore rapport that had felt like “unfinished business”; Ryan welcomed the chance for them to talk about parenting and how their lives had changed.
