As of October 8, 2026, the newest LEGO Batmobile released to buyers is the 2,269-piece Batman Returns Batmobile (set 76355), a 17-inch-long adult display model with a hidden Batmissile. Its long, sculpted silhouette and dramatic reveal make “grooviest” a fitting opinion—but it is not the newest Batmobile LEGO has announced: the Arkham Batman Batmobile is scheduled for January 1, 2027.
What is the newest LEGO Batmobile?
LEGO announced the Batman Returns Batmobile, set 76355, on August 17, 2026. Insiders early access began September 1, and general availability through LEGO Stores and LEGO.com began September 4, 2026. The model recreates the vehicle from the 1992 film Batman Returns.
There is an important distinction if you are comparing launch dates: LEGO has also listed the Arkham Batman Batmobile, set 67009, but its scheduled release is January 1, 2027. As of October 8, 2026, that makes it the newest announced Batmobile, not the newest one released. LEGO’s 76355 product page is the place to check current US availability.
Why this one earns the “grooviest” label
A memorable movie-car shape
The model’s long, sculpted body and prominent rear turbine evoke the distinctive, gothic-meets-streamlined look of the Batmobile in Batman Returns. That design gives it a different character from a compact, toy-like interpretation: it is meant to read as a substantial vehicle on display.

A Batmissile hidden inside
The signature feature is a transformation rather than a separate accessory to park beside the car. LEGO’s August 2026 announcement says: “For the first time in a LEGO Batmobile model, builders can press a button to release the vehicle’s side panels, revealing the sleek Batmissile™ escape vehicle hidden within.” The car can then be shown in either configuration.
That reveal is what makes the set especially apt for the title’s playful judgment: its appeal comes from both the recognizable 1992 design and an unexpected bit of mechanical theater. This is LEGO’s description of the feature, not an independent assessment of its build or operation.

How it compares with the smaller LEGO Batmobiles
The alternatives listed by LEGO have a different scale and audience. The 330-piece Batman Batmobile 76332 is an age-9+ play-and-display model. The 317-piece Arkham Batman Batmobile 67009 is also age 9+, but is scheduled for a later release. LEGO’s US pages list each at $29.99; prices and availability can vary by market and over time.
| Set | Film or setting | Pieces and age | Price listed on LEGO US page | Availability or emphasis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Batman Returns Batmobile 76355 | Batman Returns (1992) | 2,269; 18+ | $229.99 | Released September 4, 2026; adult display model with a Batmissile reveal |
| Batman Batmobile 76332 | Not stated on the cited LEGO US page | 330; 9+ | $29.99 | Play-and-display model |
| Arkham Batman Batmobile 67009 | Arkham setting | 317; 9+ | $29.99 | Scheduled for January 1, 2027 |
The comparison is less about picking a universal winner than choosing what you want from the model. Set 76355 is the larger, costlier centerpiece with an unusual two-form display feature. Sets 76332 and 67009 are much smaller, lower-priced options; the Arkham model is not yet released as of October 8, 2026. LEGO’s product pages list the Batman Batmobile 76332 and Arkham Batman Batmobile 67009.

Who should consider set 76355?
- Choose it for display if you want a large Batmobile tied to the 1992 film and have room for a model over 17 inches long.
- Choose it for the feature if the Batmissile reveal is part of the appeal; it changes the vehicle’s presentation rather than simply adding another build beside it.
- Look at the smaller sets instead if you want a lower-priced, age-9+ model or prefer a more compact play-and-display build.
LEGO positions 76355 as an adult display set. The listed pieces, dimensions and feature describe the product, but do not establish independent build quality or value; those depend on a buyer’s preferences and experience.
