LEGO’s August 2024 releases ranged from small licensed play sets to large display builds, with the US prices listed in James Whitbrook’s August 1 roundup spanning $15 to $450. The lineup included Animal Crossing, Star Wars, Marvel, Super Mario, Technic, and more. These are historical prices reported in 2024, not current shopping prices.
James Whitbrook’s Gizmodo roundup, published August 1, 2024, is a snapshot of that month’s announced sets. It is useful as a record of the breadth of the release slate, not as a guide to present-day stock or pricing. Below, every dollar figure is the US price reported in that roundup.
What stood out in the August 2024 lineup?
- Build variety: Creator 3-in-1 Modern House offers three different building options: a beach house, a single-story cabin, or a three-story city build.
- Marvel and space adventure: The Milano brings Guardians of the Galaxy into the lineup, while the NASA Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle is the month’s space-themed Technic standout.
- Interactive play: Three Super Mario starter sets each include an interactive figure of Mario, Luigi, or Princess Peach.
- Movie display build: LEGO Ideas Jaws recreates the shark and includes Brody, Hooper, and Quint minifigures. LEGO’s US product page identifies it as Jaws set 21350.
The list also covers themed vehicles, character builds, scenes, buildings, and playsets. The roundup does not provide piece counts, age recommendations, dimensions, or comparative hands-on assessments, so those details should not be inferred from its descriptions.
