What “return” means for SVU
The question is ambiguous for SVU because the series returned twice in the 2024-2025 television year. Its midseason restart came first. NBC’s official series page lists Season 26 episodes beginning with “First Light” on January 16, 2025, followed by episodes on January 23 and January 30, and a run continuing through May 15, 2025.
