Lovers & Friends canceled its May 4, 2024 festival at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds after organizers said a National Weather Service High Wind Warning and consultation with local officials made cancellation the safest choice. The festival promised refunds within 30 days to people who bought tickets directly through Front Gate Tickets.
Why was Lovers & Friends canceled?
Organizers said the National Weather Service had issued a High Wind Warning. The festival’s cancellation notice cited sustained winds of 30–35 mph and gusts potentially exceeding 60 mph as the forecast behind its decision. Those figures are from the festival’s account of the warning; they are not independent measurements of wind at the venue. The festival notice said organizers had monitored the weather for several days and consulted the National Weather Service and local public officials.
“Following advice from the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists, and staff, and cancel tomorrow’s Lovers & Friends Festival,” organizers said. The notice did not name an individual speaker.
When and where was the event scheduled?
The event was scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Las Vegas Festival Grounds, 2800 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. The cancellation was announced shortly before the scheduled event. The festival’s attendee guidance described access by walking, rideshare, and the Las Vegas Monorail. Official festival information
