Parade announced on November 20 that Wilson would take the stage on 34th Street in front of Macy’s Herald Square flagship store. The plan was for her to perform on the ground, not from a float. In an interview published the night before the parade, Wilson said, “We’re doing the Macy’s Day Parade. We’re singing, but we’re doing it like down on the ground, so I’m not on a float.”
