Nohemí Morales era la madre del cantautor guatemalteco Ricardo Arjona. People en Español y El Universo, en una nota de EFE, informaron que murió en Guatemala el 4 de diciembre de 2013, a los 78 años. Arjona se refería a ella como «Mimi» o «Doña Mimi».

Arjona publicó «A mi madre…» en su sitio web después del fallecimiento de Morales. People en Español publicó una transcripción el 17 de diciembre de 2013; El Comercio la reprodujo el 18 de diciembre. Puede leerse en las versiones de People en Español y El Comercio. Hay pequeñas diferencias de puntuación y redacción entre las reproducciones, por lo que conviene consultar una versión completa en un solo medio, en vez de mezclar transcripciones.
Qué recuerda Arjona en el texto
La carta es un recuerdo personal, no una biografía exhaustiva. Arjona evoca una pelea de infancia en la que su madre lo animó a defenderse y describe su franqueza y fortaleza. También recuerda las dificultades económicas de la familia y la perseverancia de sus padres.
