Kylie Minogue launched her Tension Tour at RAC Arena in Perth on Saturday, 15 February 2025. Contemporary reports described a roughly two-hour, theatrical concert that moved between songs from the Tension era and hits from across her career.
Perth hosted the tour’s global opening night
The RAC Arena concert marked the Tension Tour’s first show. Promoter Frontier Touring described it as a sellout and reported a crowd of 13,500; that is the promoter’s figure, not an independently audited attendance count. Frontier Touring’s tour announcement framed Perth as the tour debut.

PerthNow called the event a two-hour concert. The community-maintained setlist.fm record lists an 8:45 pm start and a 10:50 pm finish, or about two hours and five minutes; those times are the database’s record for this particular Perth show. The Perth setlist record is a reference, not an official running order.
A set spanning Tension and career-defining hits
The song selection paired newer material with familiar catalog favorites. Songs recorded on the Perth setlist include “Lights Camera Action,” “Good as Gone,” “Padam Padam” and “Tension,” alongside “Say Something,” “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” “Spinning Around,” “I Should Be So Lucky” and “Love at First Sight.”

In The Guardian’s review, Sian Cain describes the show as moving through Minogue’s Stock Aitken Waterman period, the Light Years and Fever eras, and the newer Tension material. The review notes that updated arrangements gave older songs a fresh feel rather than treating the concert as a simple run of greatest hits.
The production turned the arena into a theatrical pop show
The Guardian describes Minogue making an elevated entrance on a swing inside a laser cage, backed by dancers in shiny outfits and a futuristic visual design. The performance also leaned into camp theatrical costumes. PerthNow reported five costume changes and conversational breaks in which Minogue spoke with the audience.

Those details helped give the concert a distinct visual thread: spectacle and playfulness alongside the songs. Cain characterized the aesthetic as playful, queer and fun. PerthNow also reported an interaction with a 10-year-old fan, one of the personal moments amid the larger production.
How the Perth concert ended
The Guardian’s account gives the closing sequence as “All the Lovers,” followed by an encore of “Tension” and “Love at First Sight.” PerthNow’s live blog also identifies “Love at First Sight” as the last song and reports streamers and Minogue’s farewell to the city. In the Guardian’s account, Minogue reflected on her long career: “This has been such a part of my life – pretty much my entire life,” adding, “And it never gets old.”

Earlier, PerthNow quoted her telling the crowd, “Perth, I love you.” The Guardian also quotes Minogue saying, “I’m just having a moment.”
