Jenner’s gown was a silver chainmail design by Atelier Versace from the Spring/Summer 1999 collection. ELLE described it as backless; the metallic finish and open back gave the archival runway dress its distinctive look at the ceremony. How the dress connects to Elizabeth Hurley’s look
Fashion coverage linked Jenner’s gown to the lilac version of the design worn by Elizabeth Hurley during the 1990s awards-show circuit with Hugh Grant. The connection is the shared design, not a claim that Jenner wore Hurley’s specific garment. British Vogue discusses the comparison.
Who sourced the archival gown
Vanity Fair reported that vintage sellers Alex Cohen and Grant Ellis, co-founders of The RealList, sourced the gown and sent it to Jenner’s stylists, Mackenzie and Alexandra Grandquist. Cohen and Ellis said they initially sent it at the last minute, guessing it might be for the Kardashian-Jenner Christmas party because it was “so epic.” Vanity Fair reported their joint comment.

Jenner and Chalamet at the ceremony
Jenner and Chalamet attended the event together and sat beside one another inside the ceremony. ELLE reported that Chalamet was photographed alone on the red carpet, so the available coverage does not support saying they walked the carpet as a couple. He was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for playing Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. Vogue credited his outfit to Haider Ackermann for Tom Ford; the Associated Press described a black Tom Ford suit, white shirt and blue scarf. ELLE, Vogue and the Associated Press reported these details.
What to look for in a similar dress
Jenner’s gown was an archival runway piece, and the cited coverage does not establish that this exact 1999 dress is currently for sale. For a contemporary alternative, look for a silver chainmail or metallic-mesh dress and check the cut: a similar finish alone will not reproduce the gown’s backless silhouette. Label any current option as a similar look, not the original Atelier Versace piece.
