What charges was Kyle Chrisley arrested on?
WSMV reported on December 22, 2025, that Chrisley, then 35, had been arrested and booked into the Rutherford County jail after an incident in Murfreesboro. The outlet reported these initial booking charges:
- Domestic assault
- Public intoxication
- Disorderly conduct
- Three counts of felony retaliation for past actions
- Three counts of felony assault on first responders
- Resisting arrest
WSMV reported that his bond was set at $88,500 and that a court appearance was then scheduled for January 27, 2026. Those details describe the initial booking and schedule, not the later indictment or the current status of the case. WSMV’s December 22 report
What did the June 2026 indictment charge?
According to Us Weekly’s account of court documents, a Rutherford County grand jury returned a nine-count indictment on June 2, 2026:

The misdemeanor domestic-assault charge from the initial booking was dismissed upon indictment and is not among the nine counts reported. The booking list and indictment list should not be treated as interchangeable: they refer to different stages of the case. Us Weekly’s June 9 report
What was reported about the arrest?
WSMV said an arrest affidavit described officers responding to reports of suicidal and homicidal threats. The affidavit reportedly alleged that Chrisley punched officers while resisting detention. These are claims attributed to the affidavit, not established findings about what occurred.

WGNS later reported the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office account, quoting Sgt. Brady Greene: “When attempting to speak with Mr. Chrisley, he became immediately aggressive, charged at deputies and began to throw punches and assault deputies.” That is the Sheriff’s Office’s description as reported by WGNS, not a court finding. What is known about the case’s court status?
Us Weekly reported that an arraignment was scheduled for July 23, 2026; WGNS subsequently reported that it had been continued to July 29. The available reporting does not establish what happened at or after that scheduled hearing. Because July 29, 2026, has passed, it should be understood only as the last reported scheduled date—not as a future hearing or confirmation of the case’s present status.

How is this different from the separate 2024 case?
Us Weekly also reported that Chrisley and his wife filed a $1.7 million civil lawsuit concerning a separate September 2024 arrest, alleging unfair treatment. The outlet said that civil suit was put on hold pending criminal charges. It is separate from the December 2025 arrest and its 2026 indictment; the lawsuit’s allegations are not findings about either matter.
