In a 15 October 2023 interview with PerthNow, Kris Smith described a family visit to Perth as part of his continuing honeymoon celebrations with wife Sarah Boulazeris. He also reflected on raising their children and his son Ethan, whom he shares with Dannii Minogue, and on the press attention that followed his earlier family life.
Why Perth was part of their honeymoon
Smith and Boulazeris married in September 2022. They spent three weeks in Italy for a private mini-moon that month, then continued their honeymoon celebrations with a family trip to Perth in 2023. “This is part of our honeymoon,” Smith told PerthNow.
The visit had a family purpose as well as a celebratory one: Smith said they had wanted to visit Perth for a long time and wanted to show their children Sarah’s roots. A 2019 PerthNow report had also described Boulazeris as Perth-born and reported that the couple visited the city while engaged.
The 2023 interview took place at Crown Towers Perth; it does not establish that the family stayed there. Smith mentioned a plan to get a quokka selfie, but the report does not say whether they did.

Who was in the family at the time
Smith and Boulazeris met at a Sydney gym about six years before the October 2023 interview. They have daughters Mila and Frankie. PerthNow gave their ages then as four and three, respectively—not their current ages. Smith’s son Ethan, his child with Minogue, was reported as 13 at the time.
The children were involved in Smith and Boulazeris’s wedding. The interview presents the Perth trip as a family celebration, bringing the children into a journey connected to their mother’s background.

What Smith said about fatherhood
Smith described parenting as deeply rewarding but demanding. “Fatherhood is the best thing you can do with your whole life. It’s the hardest and most rewarding thing you will ever achieve,” he said in the 2023 PerthNow interview.
His comments also acknowledged the practical responsibilities of raising children. He spoke about the cost and commitment involved, alongside the joy he finds in being a father. The interview captures his view at that time; it is not a guide to the children’s present circumstances.

Smith’s reflections on Dannii Minogue and media attention
Smith recalled that public scrutiny around his earlier family life was difficult. He described paparazzi appearing near Ethan’s pram and said he had to be patient and hold back his reaction: “I just needed so much patience and to bite my tongue,” he told PerthNow. He said the experience taught him patience.
In a 2017 interview with WHO, Smith spoke warmly about Minogue, saying: “Dannii’s an incredible woman. Without her, none of this would be possible. I wouldn’t be living in Australia with an amazing son, so I’ve got nothing but great things to say about her.” That is Smith’s retrospective comment from 2017, not evidence about the present state of their private relationship.

Why Ethan does not appear on his parents’ social media
A 7 January 2022 WHO report said Smith and Minogue had consciously chosen not to post Ethan’s image on social media. WHO presented the aim of giving him a normal life away from the spotlight as its account of the parents’ reasoning; it was not a direct quotation from either parent. This privacy choice is consistent with Smith’s recollection that public attention around Ethan’s early life could be difficult, but the two reports describe separate aspects of that experience.
