Kim Kardashian’s reported comment about not knowing the price of a carton of milk came during a conversation about her annual hair and makeup spending—not as evidence of how often she shops for groceries. The wealth figures often attached to the moment also need separating: an estimate of Kardashian’s personal net worth is not the same as a valuation of a company she owns.
What Kim Kardashian reportedly said about milk
In 2025, E! News reported that Kardashian told Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper: “You know, I’d like to know a little bit more about what, like, a milk carton costs.” The remark came while they were discussing how much she might spend on hair and makeup over a year. E!’s account of the conversation places the comment in that context.
The available coverage does not establish how often Kardashian buys groceries or whether she usually shops for herself. The remark is about wanting a better sense of the cost of ordinary items; it does not establish her shopping habits. Public responses that call the comment unrelatable or a sign of privilege are reactions to the moment, not independent evidence about her private finances or routines.
Why the “$1 billion net worth” framing needs a date
The headline’s claim that Kardashian had reached a $1 billion net worth makes a changing estimate sound like a settled fact. In July 2020, ELLE, reporting on Forbes’ estimate, put her personal net worth at about $900 million—not $1 billion. The same account said a Coty deal valued KKW Beauty at $1 billion. Those figures refer to different things: an estimate of an individual’s net worth and a valuation of a company. ELLE’s July 2020 report describes both.

#1 Best Overall
A company valuation does not automatically become its owner’s personal net worth. A person’s net worth is an estimate of assets minus liabilities; a company valuation is an estimate of what the business is worth. Ownership, debt, and other assets and liabilities all matter when estimating an individual’s wealth, so the company’s headline valuation alone cannot settle that calculation.

A 2025 Forbes profile search result reported a $5 billion valuation for SKIMS after a funding round. That is a reported company valuation, not a personal net-worth figure. The Forbes profile page was not directly accessible for verification, so the figure should be treated as a reported valuation rather than a confirmed calculation of Kardashian’s wealth. Forbes’ Kim Kardashian profile is the cited profile.

Read the figures by asking three questions: when was the number reported, who published it, and whether it describes Kardashian’s personal net worth or a company’s valuation. On that basis, the 2020 figures and the 2025 SKIMS report should not be collapsed into a single claim that she “reached” a particular personal net worth.
