Kikoru Shinomiya is associated with two different weapons: a custom axe and Numbers Weapon 4. They are not interchangeable names for the same item. Official character descriptions distinguish the axe from the numbered weapon, which Kikoru’s mother, Hikari, used before her.
What weapon does Kikoru Shinomiya use?
Kikoru has a custom axe, which the official game character page describes as the weapon she wields to fully use her power after joining the Defense Force. Separately, the official anime site identifies her as the user of Numbers Weapon 4. The game’s character descriptions also identify Hikari Shinomiya as its former compatible user and Kikoru as its current one.
In other words, “Kikoru’s weapon” can refer to more than one item. Her custom axe and Numbers Weapon 4 are distinct in the official descriptions; the available descriptions do not assign the axe a Numbers designation.
Is Kikoru’s axe the same as Numbers Weapon 4?
No. The official game page calls the axe Kikoru’s “custom weapon,” while the official anime page and game materials separately identify her as the user of Numbers Weapon 4. The official descriptions do not establish that the axe is itself a Numbers Weapon, so it should not be given a number without further source-material evidence.

| Weapon | How official descriptions identify it | What is established about its use |
|---|---|---|
| Custom axe | Kikoru’s custom weapon | The game character page says she fully utilizes her power when wielding it; it does not give a model number or detailed performance specifications. |
| Numbers Weapon 4 | A numbered weapon formerly used by Hikari Shinomiya; Kikoru is identified as its current compatible user | An August 20, 2026 official game announcement calls it the Defense Force’s fastest weapon and describes Kikoru taking to the skies with it. |
What is known about Numbers Weapon 4?
Its connection to Kikoru is a legacy from her mother: Hikari previously used the weapon, and Kikoru is identified as its current compatible user. The official anime site records that relationship, and the official game page describes the same former-user/current-user pairing.
The official game announcement dated August 20, 2026 calls Numbers Weapon 4 the Defense Force’s fastest weapon and depicts Kikoru taking to the skies with it. That supports describing it in terms of speed and flight, but the cited official materials do not provide a full technical specification, explain its limitations, or establish a comparable performance measure for the axe.

What the official descriptions do—and do not—settle
- Established: Kikoru is associated with both a custom axe and Numbers Weapon 4, and official descriptions treat them separately.
- Established: Hikari Shinomiya was a previous user of Numbers Weapon 4; Kikoru is its current compatible user.
- Described for Numbers Weapon 4: The August 2026 game announcement calls it the Defense Force’s fastest weapon and describes flight.
- Not established in these descriptions: The axe’s model number, materials, complete attack mechanics, or a head-to-head power ranking against Numbers Weapon 4.
The distinction matters when discussing Kikoru’s equipment: her custom axe is the item specifically described as her axe, while Numbers Weapon 4 is the numbered weapon linked to Hikari and later Kikoru. The available official descriptions support that distinction without supplying a complete technical profile for either weapon.
