Kho Gaye Hum Kahan is a Hindi-language comedy-drama and romance about three friends in their mid-20s trying to build adult lives in Mumbai while social media intensifies the pressures of love, ambition and self-image. It is worth watching for its timely premise and its friendship at the center, though its commentary can feel too polished or familiar to some viewers.
What is Kho Gaye Hum Kahan about?
Directed by Arjun Varain Singh, the film follows Imaad, Ahana and Neil, three friends living in Mumbai. Excel Entertainment describes them as in their mid-20s, while Netflix calls them best friends in their 20s. Their relationships and ambitions unfold alongside social-media rabbit holes that encourage them to present inauthentic versions of themselves—to themselves as well as one another. That tension tests the friendship rather than serving as a detached lecture about phones.
Siddhant Chaturvedi plays Imaad, Ananya Panday plays Ahana, and Adarsh Gourav plays Neil. The listed supporting cast includes Kalki Koechlin, Anyaa Singh and Rohan Gurbaxani. The screenplay is credited to Singh, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. Rotten Tomatoes lists the runtime as 2 hours 14 minutes.
Does the film speak to Gen Z?
It speaks to the anxieties of young adults who are trying to work out who they are while watching how they appear to others. The social-media element is woven into the characters’ romantic and professional lives: online comparison and self-presentation make private insecurities harder to keep private, and can complicate the honesty their friendship needs.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
That makes Udita Jhunjhunwala’s description of the film as “A timely tale that speaks directly to Gen-Z” understandable. The film’s official framing, however, is about people in their 20s or mid-20s—not a claim that one story represents an entire generation. Its fictional situations can prompt recognition, but they are not evidence about all young people or proof of social media’s effects.
Is Kho Gaye Hum Kahan worth watching?
For viewers interested in friendship dramas about modern adulthood, the film has a clear reason to watch: its three central relationships let it explore ambition, heartbreak and online self-image together. Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV rated it 3/5 and praised the “depths and layers” beneath the superficiality of its characters’ lives. That response points to the film’s strongest possibility: the online world matters because of what the characters want from one another, not simply because it is contemporary.

The response has not been uniformly enthusiastic. Tatsam Mukherjee of The Wire argued that the film’s social-media commentary had “the recall value of an Insta reel”—a criticism of how quickly its observations may pass. Viewers who want a sharply unsettling or especially novel account of digital life may find the treatment too predictable or polished; those more drawn to the characters’ friendship and romantic entanglements may find enough to engage with.
Rotten Tomatoes displayed an 80% Tomatometer based on 15 reviews when accessed on 8 October 2026. That is a dated, changeable aggregate of critics’ reviews, not an audience score or research finding about Gen Z.
