What the 2020 announcement said
PerthNow reported that Sophie Lawrence Parker had shared a pregnancy image on Instagram and that the baby was due in January 2021. That date was the expected due date reported at the time, not a confirmation of the birth date. PerthNow’s November 26, 2020 report is the contemporary account.

What is known about the family since
Later coverage identifies the couple’s daughter as Peach and reports that she was born in 2021. In October 2025, The New Yorker also reported that their son, nicknamed Rose, was born in early 2025. These later accounts establish that the 2020 first-child announcement is historical. The New Yorker’s October 27, 2025 profile includes both birth reports.
Who is Sophie Lawrence?
Parker married Sophie Lawrence in Western Australia in early 2019, according to the Los Angeles Times’ February 5, 2020 profile. PerthNow refers to her as Sophie Lawrence Parker. A later pregnancy story from Australian Associated Press misspells her first name as “Stephanie”; other coverage, including GQ’s September 4, 2025 profile, identifies her as Sophie.

In The New Yorker profile, Parker described working around his son’s birth: “I mixed ‘Dracula’ at the hospital,” he said. It is a brief account of his work at that time, not a broader description of the family’s private life.
