Keith Urban appeared with Lainey Wilson during the opening of the 59th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville on November 19, 2025. The appearance came about seven weeks after Good Morning America reported on September 29 that Urban and Nicole Kidman had separated—not a full two months.
What Keith Urban did at the CMAs
Wilson opened the ceremony with a choreographed musical monologue and medley, including tributes to artists in the audience. The Associated Press reported that Urban joined the opening medley. The Country Music Association’s recap also says Wilson later joined Urban and Little Big Town for “special duets.” The CMA’s event recap and the AP’s report confirm his appearance.
Which song did Urban perform?
The available CMA and AP reports do not identify a specific song Urban performed with Wilson. They confirm his appearance in the opening medley and the later special duets, but do not establish which song belonged to which part of the program. Naming a particular song would go beyond what those reports confirm.
When the awards took place
The 59th Annual CMA Awards aired live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. The CMA had announced Wilson as host and listed its initial performers on November 6; Urban was not named in that initial lineup. The CMA’s announcement provides the original event details.

How the performance followed the separation report
Good Morning America reported on September 29, 2025, that Kidman and Urban had separated. It reported that they had been married since 2006 and had two daughters together. From that report date to the November 19 awards is 51 days—about seven weeks—so “two months after” is a rough description, not a full two calendar months. Good Morning America’s report dates the separation news.
Where to look for a replay
The CMA said the live broadcast aired on ABC and would be available on Hulu the next day. Its official 2025 performance video gallery lists selected clips, including “Lainey Wilson – ‘Iconic Country Music Medley.’” That listing does not identify a standalone Urban segment, and current replay availability on Hulu or elsewhere is not established here.
