Keanu Reeves voices Shadow the Hedgehog in the first Sonic the Hedgehog 3 trailer. The footage introduces Shadow as a formidable new foe for Sonic and his friends, setting up a conflict that Paramount’s official synopsis says will require an unexpected alliance.
What the trailer reveals about Shadow
Paramount’s film page confirms the casting: “Keanu Reeves joins the All-Star cast as Shadow the Hedgehog.” The studio’s trailer listing identifies Reeves as Shadow’s voice, so this is a voice performance rather than an on-screen role.

In the trailer, Shadow is presented as a threat to Team Sonic. ABC News likewise describes him as a new adversary for Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Paramount’s synopsis makes the stakes clearer: Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite to face Shadow and must find an unexpected alliance to stop him.
