Katie Rost’s story after The Real Housewives of Potomac is best understood through dated milestones, not a single “heartbreaking turn.” Boston University reported in 2016 that her marriage had ended and she had returned to Potomac with her three children; later reports covered a broken engagement and a custody dispute. Those accounts describe particular moments, not her circumstances today.
Who is Katie Rost?
Rost was an early cast member of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Potomac. Bravo’s biography describes her as a model and television personality from Potomac. That profile provides cast and family background; it is not a current update on her life. Bravo’s Katie Rost profile
What happened after her marriage ended?
In a 2016 alumni profile, Boston University reported that Rost graduated in 2001, pursued modeling in New York, and worked with brands including H by Halston, American Eagle, CoverGirl, and Izod. The profile said she returned from New York to Potomac in 2013 with her three young children after her marriage ended.
Rost described that period to Bostonia: “I got married and had kids, but that didn’t work out.” The remark concerned her marriage; it does not establish a medical condition or explain later family disputes. Boston University’s 2016 profile

What was reported about her engagement?
In a June 2, 2016 report, The Washington Post said Rost had returned her engagement ring to financier Andrew Martin before the RHOP reunion taping and described the engagement as off at that time. The article also noted that her social-media posts had created uncertainty about the relationship. It is a snapshot from 2016, not a current relationship update. What is known about the custody dispute?
A July 2019 Reality Blurb story relayed Rost’s account of a custody dispute with her former husband, James Orsini, and said the two shared a son and twin daughters. The outlet attributed its information to an interview with Page Six. This was secondary entertainment reporting, not a court record or judicial finding, and it does not establish the family’s current custody arrangement. Reality Blurb’s 2019 report

What else has been reported about her work and family projects?
Boston University reported in 2016 that Rost and her mother founded the Ronald F. Rost Charitable Foundation in 2006 in memory of her father. The profile said it aimed to help children through recreational, enrichment, and leadership activities. That historical account does not confirm whether the foundation operates today.
A Us Weekly roundup published around 2025 reported that Rost had reopened The Katie Shop and continued managing Sunny Hill Farm. It also recounted her 2023 statement that she had taken a minimum-wage job at an organic market after a stint in rehab. Those are retrospective secondary reports, not a direct check of her present work, businesses, or health; they do not establish her current circumstances. Us Weekly’s cast roundup
