The claims of financial distress came from anonymous sources and were not established as fact in the March 2, 2024 account by Geo News.
What Holmes’s lawyer said
Geo News attributed a denial to Wolfe, identifying him as Holmes’s lawyer. He said: “The story is riddled with falsehood. One would hope there would be more newsworthy items to cover, and publications would avoid reporting as ‘facts’ claims from anonymous sources peddling such obvious misrepresentations.”

His response directly challenged the money-problems narrative, including claims that Holmes was living off Cruise’s support or was desperate for money. The report does not provide independent evidence establishing those descriptions of her finances.
Why the reports said child support was ending
The Geo News article said Suri turned 18 on April 18, 2024, and presented that milestone as the point when support would end. The article does not reproduce the settlement agreement or a court record, so the exact legal terms, payment schedule, and any obligations beyond the reported age milestone cannot be confirmed from it.

What is known about the reported payment amount
Geo News repeated the often-cited figure of $400,000 per year, but did not substantiate it with primary settlement documentation. Treat it as a media-reported amount, not a verified financial record.
A 2012 E! News report, citing a source close to Cruise, said a prenuptial agreement guided asset division and described a separate child-support schedule. It also reported that the source denied Cruise made a lump-sum payment and estimated total support at more than $10 million. That figure is an unnamed source’s estimate, not a documented settlement amount, and should not be combined with the later annual figure as if either were official.

In December 2024, Holmes disputed a separate report about Suri receiving a trust fund, calling it “completely false,” according to The Independent. That denial concerned a different financial claim involving her daughter; it does not establish or disprove the terms of Cruise’s child-support arrangement.
