The “four months after” reference connects the ceremony to her September 2024 Emmy appearance; it does not describe how quickly she lost 100 pounds.
Why the four-month timeline refers to the Emmys
PEOPLE’s January 2025 appearance coverage linked Bates’s Golden Globes appearance to the 2024 Emmys, where she had shown her reported 100-pound weight loss. From September 2024 to January 5, 2025 is roughly four months. The interval is between public appearances, not the duration of her weight-loss journey.
The Golden Globes took place on January 5, 2025, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. The official Golden Globes event record identifies Bates as speaking onstage.
How much weight did Kathy Bates report losing, and over what period?
In PEOPLE reporting from 2024 and 2025, Bates described losing 100 pounds over years: 80 pounds over seven years through lifestyle changes, followed by an additional 20 pounds while taking Ozempic. These are personal figures attributed to Bates in PEOPLE’s coverage, not independently verified clinical measurements.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The distinction matters: the reported loss was a long-term process, not a four-month change between the Emmys and Golden Globes. Bates’s account is not a prediction of what another person may experience, and it should not be read as an endorsement or recommendation of a prescription medication.
What is known about her Golden Globes look?
The official event record confirms Bates’s attendance and onstage appearance, but the sources reviewed do not establish the designer or specific pieces she wore that night. A later PEOPLE report said she hired a personal stylist after her weight loss; it does not identify the designer or outfit from the January ceremony. Without an image-specific, reliable fashion source, naming a brand would be speculation.
