Karol G has described her tattoos as a personal diary of meaningful experiences. She has directly explained the story behind her barbed-heart tattoo and identified three women in a portrait tattoo: Selena, Rihanna, and herself. Her tattoo count is uncertain, and in a 2025 interview she said she had decided not to get more and wanted about four removed.

In a February 2023 WIRED interview, Karol G compared her body to a diary where she writes and draws things that were special and meaningful to her. Karol G explained the barbed heart in an Allure interview published March 15, 2022. She said it represented a period when she questioned herself and experienced emotional change, describing how she “strengthened and weakened a lot.” She also connected the tattoo to the opening of her album. How many tattoos does Karol G have?
There is no reliable current total in these interviews. In February 2023, she guessed that she had “nine tattoos, or 12 now,” then said she needed to count. In Vogue’s 2025 interview, she said she had decided not to get more tattoos and wanted about four removed. Those comments do not establish how many tattoos remain today, so a precise present-day count would be misleading.
Other designs reported in tattoo inventories
Older articles list additional designs, but they should be treated as dated reporting rather than a verified inventory of what is currently visible. Univision’s March 2022 overview mentions phrases including “Esto también pasará,” “No regrets just lessons learned,” “Mi familia me hace humana, Dios me hace fuerte,” “Véncete a ti misma,” “Hope,” and “Girl power.” It also attributes the numbers 1991, +57, and 200 to her birth year, Colombia’s country calling code, and her song “200 copas,” respectively. The article describes a butterfly as a symbol of freedom and transformation, and lists roses, a brand logo, and a billiard 8-ball. A July 2024 AS report also lists roses, a butterfly, a brand logo, a billiard ball, 1991, +57, and 200. It says tattoos connected to her former relationship with Anuel AA—including “Emmanuel” and “Lealtad de por vida”—were erased after the relationship ended.
