Adidas says it settled its dispute with Ye (formerly Kanye West) in July 2024, and both sides withdrew their claims. The public record does not disclose a settlement amount or the agreement’s full terms. In October 2024, Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden described the outcome as involving no money going either way; that is his public characterization, not a published settlement document.
What was settled?
Adidas’ 2025 annual report says the company began arbitration in 2022 against Ye and entities he controlled, seeking, among other things, damages. Ye’s side filed counterclaims. The parties settled the dispute in July 2024 and withdrew their respective claims. The report confirms the resolution but does not provide the agreement or a settlement figure.
In an October 29, 2024 report, The Guardian quoted Gulden saying there were no open issues and “no … money going either way.” He also said, “No one owes anything to anybody any more. Whatever was is history.” Those remarks describe Gulden’s account of the outcome; they are not the text of a disclosed settlement agreement.
How did the partnership end?
The legal resolution came nearly two years after the commercial split. On October 25, 2022, Adidas announced it was terminating its partnership with Ye, ending Yeezy-branded production and stopping payments to Ye and his companies. The company cited Ye’s comments and actions and said it did not tolerate antisemitism or other hate speech.

Adidas said at the time that ending the partnership could have a short-term negative impact of up to €250 million on its 2022 net income. That was the company’s anticipated impact from the termination—not a payment, damages award, or settlement amount.
What happened in the 2023 court proceeding?
A May 26, 2023 order from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York concerned Adidas’ attempt to attach accounts allegedly holding up to $75 million in Adidas funds while arbitration was pending. The court vacated the attachment order because Adidas had not timely moved to confirm it. The order addressed that provisional measure; it did not decide the merits of the arbitration or set the terms of the later settlement.

Did Adidas pay Ye, or did Ye pay Adidas?
No public settlement amount is established in Adidas’ annual report, and the detailed agreement has not been disclosed in the cited public sources. Gulden’s October 2024 remarks are the basis for saying that, in his description, no money changed hands between the parties as part of the resolution. They should not be confused with a published financial term in the settlement agreement.
Is the shareholder lawsuit part of this settlement?
No. Adidas’ 2025 annual report separately describes a securities class action brought by holders of Adidas ADRs over alleged misleading statements concerning risks from the Ye partnership and Adidas’ diversity commitments. The Ninth Circuit affirmed dismissal in December 2025, and the plaintiff may still petition the Supreme Court. That shareholder case is distinct from the Ye-related arbitration and was not resolved by the July 2024 settlement.

What happened to remaining Yeezy products?
Adidas reported approximately €650 million in revenue from sales of remaining Yeezy products during the 2024 financial year and said it had no Yeezy inventory on December 31, 2024. Those figures describe product sales and inventory, not the settlement. The report does not establish that Adidas is currently selling new Yeezy stock.
