“KALKI” here refers to Kalki 2898 AD, a 2024 Indian science-fiction action film that sets Hindu-mythic framing inside a dystopian future. In the year 2898, a woman carrying a prophesied child is caught between the rulers of the airborne Complex and a resistance movement; bounty hunter Bhairava becomes part of the conflict.
What is Kalki 2898 AD about?
The film imagines a devastated future in which Kashi is the last city and the Complex, an airborne fortress, holds power. The story follows a struggle over a woman carrying a prophesied child, drawing Bhairava into the clash between the Complex and the resistance. The film’s own mythic frame identifies Kalki as an avatar of Vishnu; that is part of the story’s premise, not an independent statement of religious scholarship.
Its defining blend is mythic material, dystopian science fiction and action. The creators also introduced the film’s universe in the two-part animated series B&B: Bujji & Bhairava, described in Amazon’s announcement.
How long is the film?
The listed runtime depends on the version or platform. The Japanese official exhibition notice gives intended specifications of 168 minutes for 2D and 180 minutes for IMAX, based on producer-provided masters. Prime Video’s listing displays 2 hours 55 minutes. These are different source contexts, not one universal runtime.

What to check before choosing a version
- Territory and platform: Confirm the film appears in the service catalog for your country; the 2024 rollout announcement does not establish current availability everywhere.
- Audio and subtitles: Check the actual listing for the language tracks you want. The announced Prime Video language options were specific to that release information.
- Version and runtime: Distinguish the Japan exhibition notice’s 2D and IMAX specifications from a streaming service’s runtime label.
Is there a Bujji car toy?
A Flipkart listing names a “Wembley Kalki 2898AD Official Bujji Car Toy” and describes it as a plastic toy car. That supports the existence of a title-specific product listing, but does not establish its current stock status or independently verify the listing’s “official” description.
