Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 premiered in Japan on July 19, 2025. The launch was also arranged as a simultaneous worldwide premiere stream on X, while international viewers could watch through Crunchyroll and other territory-specific services.
For viewers in the United States, Crunchyroll listed the English-subtitled premiere at 7:00 a.m. Pacific Time on July 19, followed by the regular stream at 7:30 a.m. PT. Those times were for the premiere-day schedule, not a continuing weekly release time.

The official Kaiju No. 8 streaming page lists Seasons 1 and 2 as streaming now. Services include Crunchyroll, Netflix, Disney+, and other platforms, but the exact catalog depends on the viewer’s country.
#1 Best Overall
- KAIJU No. 8, from the show of the same name, joins S.H.Figuarts!
- Faithfully detailed and designed for dynamic posability, it lets you re-create your favorite scenes from the show
- [Set Contents] Main Body, Three optional expressions, One pair of optional hands, Optional right arm, Optional right leg

Crunchyroll carried the international premiere and remains the most directly associated streaming destination for the new episodes in many regions. Netflix and Disney+ availability is not universal, so viewers should check the official regional listings rather than assuming that every platform carries the series everywhere.
The July 19 X broadcast was a special simultaneous premiere event. It should not be confused with X serving as the ongoing on-demand home for the complete season.
What do the Season 2 trailers show?
March 22 teaser
The first substantial Season 2 teaser established the next stage of Kafka Hibino’s military career. Kafka is assigned to the Defense Force’s First Division, placing him under the command of Gen Narumi, the division’s captain. The video also confirmed the July 2025 broadcast window.

- From the hugely popular manga that’s sold over 12 million copies globally and upcoming anime “Kaiju No.8” comes the titular character in soft vinyl form!
- This 6.7-inch toy faithfully recreates the character’s appearance, from his muscular physique to the pale lines running all throughout the body!
- A must-have for your Movie Monster Series collection!
This teaser set up a significant change from the first season’s central training and recruitment storyline: Kafka’s abilities and identity now have to function inside a more experienced, more demanding combat unit.
June 18 trailer
The June trailer provided a fuller look at Narumi and the First Division while reinforcing the continuing danger represented by Kaiju No. 9. Rather than simply repeating the March announcement, this video expanded the season’s conflict and gave audiences more of the characters and battles they would encounter after the premiere.
July 10 main trailer
The final promotional video was titled “Ishi no Keisho,” translated as “Succession of The Will.” Released on July 10, it arrived nine days before the first episode and included the Season 2 ending song, “Beautiful Colors” by OneRepublic.

What is Hoshina’s Day Off?
Hoshina’s Day Off is an anime-original special episode connected to the series. It streamed on Crunchyroll on July 5, 2025, two weeks before the Season 2 premiere. The special is separate from Season 2 proper, but it gives fans an additional story involving Soshiro Hoshina before the new season begins.

Why older release-date headlines are misleading
Some pages still use wording such as “Season 2 release date and trailer revealed.” That phrasing reflected the period before July 2025, when the premiere and promotional videos were still announcements. It is now outdated: the season premiered in 2025, and the official site lists both seasons as available to stream.
The trailer history is also easy to flatten incorrectly. The March teaser, June trailer, and July main trailer were three different releases, spaced across the promotional campaign. The July 10 video was not the original announcement of Season 2; it was the final main trailer before the already announced premiere.
