Spoilers for all 10 episodes of Season 1. Brooklynn survived the Allosaurus attack, though she lost an arm. The finale’s reveal recasts her apparent death as part of an investigation into the illegal dinosaur trade: a May 2024 recap reports that she was in contact with DPW officer Ronnie and had met with Kenji’s father, Daniel Kon. The same recap identifies DPW officer Dudley Cabrera as involved in the trade. The full scope of Brooklynn’s arrangements and the criminal network remains unresolved.
What happens at the end of Season 1?
The finale reveals that Brooklynn is alive. She survived the Allosaurus attack but lost an arm, according to the May 2024 recap from The Times of India. Her apparent death had given the Nublar Six a reason to seek answers; her survival reveals that she had been investigating the illegal dinosaur trade.
The season’s official descriptions set up a mystery and a conspiracy but do not detail these individual twists. Netflix says the story takes place six years after Camp Cretaceous, when the friends reunite after a tragedy and become caught in a conspiracy threatening dinosaurs and people. Amblin describes the finale, “The End of the Beginning,” as a deadly confrontation as the group nears solving the mystery.
Why was Brooklynn investigating the dinosaur trade?
The recap reports that Brooklynn pursued the illegal trade and communicated with DPW officer Ronnie. It characterizes her work as undercover, but that wording comes from the recap, not the official episode description. Her investigation helps explain why she was operating apart from her friends and why the danger surrounding her was connected to more than the Allosaurus attack.

What does Daniel Kon have to do with it?
The recap says Brooklynn had met with Daniel Kon, Kenji’s father. That connection brings the investigation close to the group: the mystery now involves not only a criminal operation but also someone tied to one of the Nublar Six. The available account does not establish what Brooklynn and Daniel arranged, what he knew, or whether he was helping her.
Who is compromised inside the DPW?
The same recap identifies DPW officer Dudley Cabrera as involved in the dinosaur trade. That reveal complicates the group’s ability to rely on official channels: an officer in the agency connected to dinosaur management is part of the threat they are trying to understand. The official season summaries describe a wider conspiracy, but they do not spell out how far it reaches or name everyone involved.

What the finale answers—and what it leaves open
| Established by the finale recap | Not established in the available accounts |
|---|---|
| Brooklynn survived the Allosaurus attack and lost an arm. | How she escaped the attack. |
| She was pursuing the illegal dinosaur trade and was in contact with DPW officer Ronnie. | The exact terms of her relationship or arrangements with Ronnie. |
| She had met with Daniel Kon, and Dudley Cabrera was involved in the trade. | What Daniel knew or did, who else ran the operation, and whether Brooklynn’s friends knew the full truth by the end. |
These unanswered details matter because the season’s reveal changes the meaning of Brooklynn’s disappearance without resolving every part of her mission. Netflix’s broad synopsis and Amblin’s finale description point toward a larger conspiracy, but neither provides a complete account of its membership or outcome.
Where Season 1 fits in the Jurassic timeline
Netflix places Chaos Theory six years after Camp Cretaceous. Co-showrunner and executive producer Scott Kreamer told Syfy Wire that the timeline was adjusted after Dominion was delayed during the pandemic, so the series would align with the film’s timeline. He said the team knew it was heading toward that timeline, while treating it as the show’s guardrail. That explains the time jump’s franchise context, but does not answer the finale’s open questions about Brooklynn’s investigation.

Episode and release context
Amblin’s official season and episode guide lists 10 episodes and identifies “The End of the Beginning” as the finale. TV Guide’s Season 1 episode listings give May 24, 2024 as the release date.
Netflix’s series synopsis establishes the broader setup: the Nublar Six reunite in a world populated by dinosaurs and become entangled in a conspiracy. The episode guide’s description of a deadly confrontation nearing a solution signals a partial resolution, not a full explanation of the trade network.
