The Hall’s official Dave Matthews Band profile lists “Ants Marching,” “Crash Into Me,” and “So Much to Say” in its induction section. The AP’s October 19 ceremony report describes the performance set as “Ants Marching,” “Crash,” and “So Much to Say.” The difference is in how “Crash Into Me” is named: the Hall uses the full title, while AP uses the shorter “Crash.”
Why did Julia Roberts induct the band?
Roberts had a direct connection to Dave Matthews Band: she appeared in the video for the group’s 2005 single “Dreamgirl.” In its ceremony coverage, AP reported that she described the band’s appeal as “spontaneous abandon” and recalled that she and her husband first danced to one of the group’s songs. Those personal ties help explain why she introduced the band at the ceremony.
