Full-series spoilers, including the final volume. Yuji Itadori’s life shifts from ordinary high-school routines to the jujutsu world after he swallows one of Ryomen Sukuna’s fingers to protect his friends. The timeline below follows the manga’s event order, from Yuji’s undated childhood through the final conflict; it does not assign calendar dates to memories the story does not precisely date.
Before Jujutsu High: Yuji’s childhood and family
Backstory; exact dates unspecified. Yuji grows up in Sendai and is raised in part by his grandfather, Wasuke. The story gives readers pieces of Yuji’s family history and childhood, but not a complete dated biography. Memories and revelations about his past appear across the manga, so their place in the reading order is not always the same as their place in his life.
For that reason, the most accurate starting point is a broad one: Yuji has a life in Sendai before the main story, but the available chronology does not establish a reliable birth date or year-by-year childhood timeline.
High school: Yuji becomes Sukuna’s vessel
Opening of the main story. Yuji is a high-school student known for extraordinary physical ability. When a cursed object puts people close to him in danger, he swallows one of Sukuna’s fingers to protect his friends. That decision makes him Sukuna’s vessel and draws him into the world of jujutsu sorcerers and curses.

This is the decisive break in Yuji’s life: he does not enter the conflict as someone seeking power or status. He is pulled into it by an attempt to save other people, and his connection to Sukuna shapes the dangers and choices that follow.
Jujutsu High and the early missions
After becoming Sukuna’s vessel, Yuji enters the jujutsu world. He trains with teachers and allies and takes part in missions against curses. These events establish his new life as a sorcerer-in-training, but they should be read in the manga’s chapter order: flashbacks and later revelations do not necessarily occur at the point in the story where readers first see them.

The main chronology here is a sequence of turning points rather than a day-by-day schedule. The official series materials identify the broad story premise, while the manga supplies the order for individual missions and intervening events.
Shibuya: the Halloween-night rupture
The Shibuya Incident takes place on Halloween night, October 31. It is a major rupture in Yuji’s life and raises the stakes of the story. The incident itself and its aftermath are separate stages: the consequences continue to shape Yuji’s situation after the night in Shibuya has ended.

The anime’s second season covers Shibuya, but an adaptation boundary is not the same thing as a complete timeline of Yuji’s life. The completed manga is the source to follow for the full sequence through the ending.

Yuji meets Higuruma
In the Tokyo No. 1 colony, Yuji fights Higuruma and persuades him. Their encounter leads to a rule being added that allows players to transfer points to one another. It is a practical turning point in the Culling Game: the change gives participants a way to move points between players rather than treating each player’s score as isolated.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. The final conflict: Yuji’s attempt to separate Sukuna and Megumi
In the final conflict, Sukuna is bound up with Megumi Fushiguro. Yuji attacks the seam between Sukuna’s soul and Megumi’s in an attempt to separate them. That is the clearest publisher-described statement of Yuji’s objective in the climax: his effort is directed at freeing Megumi from Sukuna, not simply defeating an enemy in a conventional fight.

VIZ identifies volume 30 as the final volume of the manga. The ending belongs to the completed manga rather than any earlier anime adaptation point; this timeline does not add unverified detail about the final aftermath beyond the stated objective of Yuji’s attack.
Quick Recap
How to read Yuji’s timeline
- Use the manga’s chapter order for the sequence of present-time events; do not treat every flashback as a new event occurring where it appears on the page.
- Keep childhood dates open. Yuji’s early life is part of the story, but the account here does not establish a full calendar for it.
- Distinguish the major phases: high school and the finger, Jujutsu High and early missions, Shibuya, the post-Shibuya crisis and Culling Game, and the final conflict.
- For the complete narrative, follow the manga through volume 30. Anime coverage of an arc or season is not by itself the full completed timeline.
