The four sorcerers conventionally identified as Japan’s special grades are Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, Yuki Tsukumo, and Yuta Okkotsu. The official anime profile for Yuki calls her “one of only four” special-grade jujutsu sorcerers in Japan. Their profiles point to very different sources of importance: Gojo’s Limitless, Geto’s control of cursed spirits, Yuki’s effort to prevent curses from being born, and Yuta’s connection to Rika and his clash with Geto.
What special grade means here
“Special grade” is a sorcerer classification in Jujutsu Kaisen. The official anime character profile for Yuki Tsukumo gives the fictional-world count as four in Japan and identifies her as one of them. This article focuses on the four-person sorcerer roster—Gojo, Geto, Yuki, and Yuta—not special-grade cursed spirits or other entities.

The official pages do not provide a complete technical guide to the classification or a comparative ranking of all four. They do explicitly label Yuki and Yuta special grade; Bandai Namco’s official Gojo profile does the same for Gojo. Geto’s reviewed official character profile describes his technique and story role but does not print his grade, so his inclusion in the conventional four-person roster should not be mistaken for a direct label on that profile.
The four special-grade sorcerers
Satoru Gojo: the Limitless user
Gojo belongs to the Gojo family and uses Limitless. His official anime profile describes him as a man who later becomes the strongest sorcerer, while Bandai Namco’s official character profile identifies him as a special-grade jujutsu sorcerer. Together, these details establish both his exceptional standing and the signature ability named in his profile.

Those profile summaries do not provide a full explanation of Limitless or establish every related ability, technique extension, or matchup. This is a character overview, not a complete combat-system breakdown.
Suguru Geto: the sorcerer whose beliefs change
Geto is Gojo’s classmate and uses Cursed Spirit Manipulation, which allows him to absorb and control cursed spirits he has subdued. His profile also says that he once believed in saving non-sorcerers and later became a curse user. That contrast—his original belief and subsequent identity—is central to understanding his role.
Rank #2
Geto’s story connects directly to Jujutsu Kaisen 0, where he is part of the conflict involving Yuta. The film’s official character page features both characters alongside Gojo. The official profile reviewed here describes Geto’s technique and history but does not itself state his grade.
Yuki Tsukumo: pursuing a world without curses
Yuki’s official profile explicitly calls her one of Japan’s four special-grade jujutsu sorcerers. It also distinguishes her approach from simply exorcising curses: she wants to create a world in which curses are not born. Her stated objective makes her a useful counterpoint to characters whose profiles foreground a particular technique or direct conflict.

The profile does not explain Yuki’s technique, so it is best to separate what it establishes—her rank and her goal—from any more detailed account of her abilities.
Yuta Okkotsu: Rika and the conflict with Geto
Yuta’s official profile marks him special grade and connects his enrollment at Jujutsu High to his childhood friend Rika becoming a special-grade cursed spirit. It says he fought Geto during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons and succeeded in releasing Rika’s curse. The official Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film character page includes Yuta, Geto, and Gojo, making the prequel the direct story link between their profiles.
Rank #4
The profile provides an entry point to Yuta’s relationship with Rika and his confrontation with Geto, but it does not give a complete account of Yuta’s later abilities or every aspect of Rika’s powers.
How the four differ in the official profiles
| Sorcerer | Profile-supported ability or focus | Story role or objective | What the cited profile does not establish |
|---|---|---|---|
| Satoru Gojo | Uses Limitless; Bandai Namco’s profile calls him special grade. | His anime profile describes him as becoming the strongest sorcerer. | A complete technical explanation of Limitless or a ranking against all three others. |
| Suguru Geto | Cursed Spirit Manipulation: he absorbs and controls subdued cursed spirits. | Gojo’s classmate; his profile describes his belief in saving non-sorcerers and his later identity as a curse user. | His reviewed character profile does not print a special-grade label. |
| Yuki Tsukumo | Officially identified as one of four special-grade sorcerers in Japan. | Seeks a world where curses are not born. | A detailed explanation of her technique. |
| Yuta Okkotsu | Officially marked special grade; his profile connects him to Rika. | Fights Geto during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons and releases Rika’s curse. | A complete account of his later abilities or all of Rika’s powers. |
Where to follow Yuta and Geto’s story
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is the most direct starting point for the relationship between Yuta and Geto described in their official profiles. The official film character page introduces Yuta, Gojo, and Geto together. Readers looking for the print source can consult the official Jujutsu Kaisen comics listing for the series’ volumes; it lists volumes 29 and 30 with a December 25, 2024 release date, but that listing alone does not establish current retailer stock or a particular edition of the prequel.

What the official profiles do—and do not—tell you
The profiles are concise character summaries, not a complete guide to the power system. They support identifying the four-person roster and explaining the specific details above, but do not provide a definitive strongest-to-weakest ordering or establish every technique extension, domain, limitation, and matchup. Any broader power ranking should be treated as interpretation rather than a conclusion from these profiles.
