Anime Expo 2025 did not announce a new release date for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 in MAPPA’s published panel description. MAPPA’s panel was billed around Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc and upcoming studio projects. The official Jujutsu Kaisen site later announced a January 2026 window for Season 3, and Crunchyroll subsequently named January 8, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific as its streaming premiere. Those dates have passed.
What did Anime Expo 2025 announce about the Season 3 release date?
MAPPA’s June 25, 2025, announcement described its July 3 Anime Expo panel as “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc and Upcoming MAPPA Works,” with a focus on upcoming projects and the studio’s future. It did not identify a Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 date announcement. MAPPA’s Anime Expo announcement is the relevant published description.
Anime Expo’s program also listed a separate Jujutsu Kaisen special event hosted by TOHO animation. That listing, by itself, does not establish that the event announced a release date. The season window was announced later by the official series site.
When did Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 premiere?
On August 31, 2025, the official Jujutsu Kaisen site announced that Season 3, titled “The Culling Game Part 1,” would air in January 2026. Crunchyroll said it would stream the season, then published a more specific date and time: January 8, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific. That exact date and time refer to Crunchyroll’s announced schedule, not a universal premiere time for every service or territory. The official season announcement and Crunchyroll’s date announcement provide the respective details.

Why the November screening was not a second release date
The November 7, 2025, Japanese theatrical event paired a Shibuya Incident compilation with advance screenings of the first two Season 3 episodes. That special cinema presentation was distinct from the later general broadcast and streaming premiere schedule. The official series announcement described the theatrical program and the January season window separately. Official series details
