Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270 Review: “Dream’s End” Before the Finale

Chapter 270 is titled “Dream’s End” and precedes Chapter 271 and the epilogue in Volume 30. Official listings establish its context, but not whether its ending is truly storybook or leaves its questions unresolved.

Spoiler note: This review discusses Chapter 270’s place in the final volume but avoids unverified scene-by-scene claims. The official publisher listings establish its title and position in the series; they do not establish the chapter’s specific ending or character developments. On that evidence, “a storybook ending creates as many questions as it answers” is a thesis to test against the chapter, not a conclusion that can responsibly be asserted here.

What Chapter 270’s title and placement establish

Chapter 270 is officially titled “夢の終わり” (“Dream’s End”). In Shueisha’s Volume 30 contents, it appears on page 129, immediately before Chapter 271, “これから” (“From Now On”), followed by an epilogue and extra pages. Volume 30 collects Chapters 264–271. Those details make Chapter 270 a penultimate-stage installment in the collected sequence, not the series’ final chapter.

The Japanese print and digital editions of Volume 30 were listed for release on December 25, 2024. The official Shonen Jump+ listing gives January 28, 2025 as Chapter 270’s platform date. These dates refer to different publication contexts: the collected volume and the platform listing.

Does the “storybook ending” thesis hold?

The title “Dream’s End” invites a reading about closure, but a chapter title alone cannot show whether the chapter offers emotional resolution, a neat moral shape, or a deliberately simplified outcome. Nor can the volume contents demonstrate whether its ending feels earned or whether it compresses the consequences of the story’s events. Those are judgments that depend on the chapter’s actual scenes, paneling, and character choices.

#1 Best Overall

For the same reason, the claim that the chapter creates as many questions as it answers cannot be verified from the publisher metadata. A grounded review would need to distinguish questions the chapter deliberately leaves open from points it answers indirectly, and then judge whether any remaining uncertainty feels purposeful or unsupported. The official listings do not provide that scene-level evidence.

Why the next installment matters

Chapter 271 and an epilogue follow Chapter 270 in Volume 30. That sequence matters when assessing an apparent ending: a question left open at the end of Chapter 270 may be answered immediately afterward, while another may remain unresolved after the series’ final material. Calling every open thread a flaw—or treating Chapter 270 as the complete ending—would ignore the installment’s position in the final volume.

VIZ identifies its English-language Volume 30 as the series’ final volume and describes the series’ last battle as Itadori’s fight with Sukuna. Its chapter index points readers to MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA for the latest free chapters available in their location; it does not establish that Chapter 270 is free or available everywhere. Reading the installment in the collected volume also preserves its sequence with Chapter 271 and the epilogue.
