When did Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 256 come out?
Chapter 256’s North American digital release date was Sunday, April 7, 2024. In Japan, the corresponding calendar date was Monday, April 8, 2024. The dates differ because the release crossed time zones; they refer to the same point in the weekly publication schedule. Contemporary coverage listed expected US release times based on past patterns, not as an independently confirmed official timestamp, so no specific time is included here. VIZ’s official listing for the following chapter, Chapter 257, gives April 28, 2024, consistent with Chapter 256 being a past release rather than an upcoming one: VIZ Chapter 257.
What happens in Chapter 256?
The chapter opens with a flashback in which Gojo discusses Black Flash and why a sorcerer cannot simply summon it at will. The following plot summary is based on a published recap, rather than an official English transcript.
Sukuna turns the pressure on Maki and Choso
As the fight escalates, Sukuna lands Black Flash attacks on Maki and Choso, putting the allied fighters in greater danger.
