Joshua-Michael Phillip Waring, the son of The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Lauri Peterson, died on March 31, 2024, at age 35, according to the dates in Peterson’s public announcement. Peterson announced his death on April 6. Later reports attributed the cause and manner of death to the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Department.

Waring, commonly known as Josh Waring, was Lauri Peterson’s son. Peterson is an alum of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
When did Josh Waring die?
Peterson’s announcement gave Waring’s dates as December 20, 1988, to March 31, 2024, making him 35. In a post on April 6, she described his death as occurring on Easter Sunday and wrote: “It is with a shattered heart that I write this post to let you know that my sweet Josh left this earth Easter Sunday.” E! News reported the announcement; Us Weekly also covered it.
What was Josh Waring’s cause of death?
Initial reports on April 6 said the cause had not yet been confirmed while authorities awaited further testing. FOX 11 Los Angeles, citing City News Service, reported that confirmation was pending.

On August 29, reports attributed a later finding to the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Department: Waring’s death resulted from the combined effects of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and olanzapine, and was ruled accidental. E! News reported the department’s finding; TMZ reported the same attribution.
