The couple shared their engagement news on social media on Saturday, June 29, 2024. ABC7 Los Angeles reported the announcement the next day and quoted both of their posts. ABC7’s report identified Lucas as an actor and Ruffalo as a meteorologist at the station.

Ruffalo said they met almost two years earlier, in fall 2022. In her announcement, she recalled that Lucas walked into her life “with no expectations” and that they knew almost immediately they had found their person. Lucas likewise wrote that for the last two years she had made his life “better, deeper, and more whole.”

Ruffalo called accepting Lucas’s proposal “the easiest and best question I’ve ever answered.” She closed her post by calling him her love and best friend and saying she could not wait to keep living life with him.

Lucas said he was grateful and thrilled she had said yes. He also thanked their families and the people and places that helped make the moment happen, adding that he knew he was “crazy lucky.” ABC7 published excerpts from both posts.
What has been reported about the proposal?
Entertainment Tonight reported that Lucas proposed during a romantic trip to Italy. Us Weekly described a dinner proposal accompanied by a mariachi band playing an acoustic serenade. Those reports supply different details; neither establishes a precise location and setting that combines both accounts.
