Jordan Chiles is the youngest of five children born to Timothy and Gina Chiles. Her official biography says her parents enrolled her in recreational gymnastics when she was six; UCLA’s 2025 gymnastics media guide names her siblings as Jazmin, Jade, Tajmen and Tyrus. The public record offers a few clear family details, but not a comprehensive biography of either parent.
Who are Jordan Chiles’ parents?
Jordan’s parents are Timothy and Gina Chiles. Her official biography identifies her as the youngest of five children born to them. UCLA’s 2025 gymnastics media guide lists her siblings as Jazmin, Jade, Tajmen and Tyrus.
These sources establish the family relationships and names, but do not provide a full current profile of Timothy or Gina. In particular, they do not establish details such as the parents’ current relationship status or a complete account of their work and personal lives.
How did her parents support her gymnastics start?
According to Jordan’s official biography, her parents enrolled her in a recreational gymnastics class at age six. She was invited to try out for the pre-team and competed at Level 4 the following year. That account describes the start of her training; it does not say that either parent coached her or independently directed her gymnastics career.

What has Gina said about Jordan?
In a 2024 Associated Press report about Jordan pursuing another Olympic opportunity, Gina recalled Jordan telling her: “I know what I want to do, I know what I need to accomplish, I know I have the right people in place to help me get there,” Gina Chiles said Jordan told her. The quote is Gina’s account of what Jordan said, not a direct interview quotation recorded by the AP.
The story behind “Chick”
NBC Olympics reports that Gina told the New York Times the family nickname “Chick” began when Jordan wore a tee-ball helmet that made her head look like Chicken Little’s. The NBC page attributes the anecdote to Gina’s account in the Times; it is not presented here as an original NBC interview.
What has Gina said publicly about her family?
Gina submitted written testimony for a U.S. Senate hearing in which she identified herself as “the mother of Jordan Chiles-current national team member.” Her submission also recounts a March 2017 training-camp incident from her perspective. That is Gina’s account in a hearing submission, not by itself an adjudicated finding.
