Stranger Things: Welcome to the Hellfire Club is a released collaborative Dungeons & Dragons board game inspired by the series, not an upcoming launch. Wizards of the Coast lists its release date as October 7, 2025. It brings Eddie Munson’s lost adventures to the table through four adventures, with the story set in spring 1986.
What is Welcome to the Hellfire Club?
It is a boxed D&D game built around the Hellfire Club and the world of Stranger Things. The official Wizards of the Coast store describes it as a collaborative board game featuring Eddie’s lost adventures and four adventures with “hours of play possibilities.” D&D Beyond places the game in spring 1986. Wizards of the Coast product page · D&D Beyond
That makes the series’ setting part of the appeal: players can take on D&D adventures framed as part of Eddie’s Hellfire Club world. The official description presents it as a collaborative experience; it does not establish that the game is a conventional, open-ended D&D campaign.
How many players can play?
The official listings do not give one consistent player count. They may also count the Dungeon Master differently, so use the description from the page you are consulting rather than treating one number as a definitive universal count.

If your group’s size is close to one of these limits, check the current product details before buying; the available official descriptions do not resolve the discrepancy.
What does the box promise?
- Four adventures: The Wizards of the Coast store lists four adventures and describes “hours of play possibilities.” That establishes the advertised adventure count, but not a specific playtime or replay value.
- Hellfire Club theming: The product connects its adventures to Eddie Munson and his lost stories, while D&D Beyond locates the game in spring 1986.
- Collaborative play: The official store characterizes it as collaborative, making it a fit to consider for a group looking to play together rather than compete.
Hasbro’s feature on the game discusses its stories, style, and inspiration, and identifies Justice Ramin Arman as D&D managing game designer and lead game designer on the set. Hasbro: Stories from the Hellfire Club
