John Cena has said he does not want children, while Rhea Ripley described not having them for the next five to ten years as a practical choice tied to life on the road. Their comments are different: Cena has explained a personal preference, while Ripley spoke about a near-term career constraint. These are two documented examples, not a complete list of major wrestlers who do not have children.
Why doesn’t John Cena have kids?
In a 2026 interview with The Guardian, Cena explained that having children would mean giving up other parts of the life he wants. “If I said yes to children, I have to say no to everything else,” he said. His answer presents the decision as a matter of time, commitment and priorities—not as a judgment about parenthood.
The same Guardian interview reported Cena’s account of how little time he spent at home: about 15 days a year from 2002 to 2015, and about 70 days a year “even now.” Those are figures attributed to Cena, not independently measured statistics. They help explain the demands he associates with family life, but do not describe every wrestler’s schedule.
How did children factor into Cena’s relationship with Nikki Bella?
Children were also a point of difference in Cena’s relationship with Nikki Bella. A WWE video description published May 27, 2018 said Bella wanted to become a mother and feared regretting never having children, framing the couple’s engagement as uncertain. In 2026, The Guardian reported that Cena had a vasectomy and offered to reverse it during the relationship. That detail is part of the reported relationship context; it should not be treated as proof that a person’s wishes can never change.

In an earlier explanation, reported by Us Weekly in 2024 after Cena appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s show, he said he did not feel ready to give a child the time he believed good parenting required. That account is consistent with the reasoning he later gave The Guardian.
What has Rhea Ripley said about having children?
In comments reported by Fightful in November 2024, Ripley said, “I probably can’t have kids for the next 5 to 10 years because I don’t want to have to bring them on the road and put them through that.”

That is a time-specific statement about her plans and the demands of touring, not a declaration that she will never have children. It also does not establish anything about her fertility. The comment reflects a concern about raising a child amid travel, rather than the broader life-priority explanation Cena gave.
How do Cena’s and Ripley’s comments differ?
| Wrestler | What they said | Reason given | What the statement establishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| John Cena | He does not want children, as discussed in The Guardian’s 2026 interview. | Time, commitment and the other parts of life he would have to give up. | A stated preference at the time of the interview; it is not a claim about other wrestlers. |
| Rhea Ripley | In 2024, she said she probably could not have children for five to ten years. | She did not want to bring children on the road. | A near-term plan tied to touring, not a permanent decision. |
Which other major wrestlers don’t have kids?
These documented comments do not support an exhaustive roster. Public reporting that does not mention someone’s children or family plans is not enough to establish whether they have children or whether they want them. The clearest comparison here is between Cena’s stated preference and Ripley’s stated near-term constraint; claims about other wrestlers require similarly direct, reliable reporting.

WWE’s John Cena profile identifies him as a wrestler and actor and says he retired from in-ring competition at the end of 2025. His comments about children are personal statements, not a general account of how retirement or a wrestling career shapes family choices.
