What was reported about Cena and Flair in France?
On May 2, 2024, ComicBook.com published a report saying PWInsider had reported that Cena and Flair were in France ahead of Backlash. ComicBook.com added that Cena had been spotted taking photos with fans in the city. The account did not establish why either wrestler was there or what role, if any, either had at the event. ComicBook.com’s May 2 report.
Sports Illustrated published a separate report the same day, also saying Cena and Flair had arrived in France. It said it was not known whether they were visiting backstage or would be featured on-air. Sports Illustrated’s May 2 report.
Were John Cena and Charlotte Flair confirmed for Backlash 2024?
No. The reports placed them in France, but did not confirm an appearance on the Backlash broadcast. Neither report cited primary confirmation from WWE, Cena, or Flair, so their reported presence should not be treated as proof that they were booked for the show.
