John Candy played Dr. Tongue in an SCTV Monster Chiller Horror Theatre segment listed as “Dr Tongue’s Evil House of Pancakes.” Its premise is brief: Dr. Tongue offers pancakes and syrup. The supplied title’s phrase “Evil 3D House of Pancakes” is not the title established by the available program guides.
What is John Candy’s Dr. Tongue pancake sketch?
It is a comedy segment within SCTV’s recurring Monster Chiller Horror Theatre framing, not a standalone film. The SCTV Guide identifies the segment as “Dr Tongue’s Evil House of Pancakes” and credits John Candy as Dr Tongue. Its episode listing describes Dr. Tongue offering pancakes and syrup. Library and Archives Canada’s archived SCTV Guide provides the episode listing and cast credits.

What does Count Floyd have to do with it?
Count Floyd provides the framing for the clip: the program guide says he shows it as part of Monster Chiller Horror Theatre. That context helps explain why the sketch is sometimes remembered alongside the show’s horror-themed Dr. Tongue material. The guide credits Candy as Dr Tongue. The SCTV Guide’s Monster Chiller Horror Theatre page lists the segment and related titles.
Is “Evil 3D House of Pancakes” the official title?
The available guide does not establish that wording as the segment’s canonical title. It lists “Dr Tongue’s Evil House of Pancakes” separately from “Dr Tongue’s 3D House of Stewardesses,” so “3D” should not be treated as part of the verified pancake-segment title. The guides identify the sketch and its basic premise, but do not provide a full plot recap or establish a reliable original air date.

How is it distinct from other Dr. Tongue segments?
The SCTV Guide lists several Dr. Tongue titles, including “Evil House of Pancakes,” “Evil House of Wax,” and “3D House of Stewardesses.” The pancake segment is the one associated with the offer of pancakes and syrup; the guide does not provide enough detail here to compare their plots beyond their separate titles.
