John Butler announced the PRISM Tour in June 2025 as his first Australian campaign with a band since 2019. It was scheduled to begin in Bunbury on September 5, 2025, the same date his album PRISM was due for release. The tour is a past announcement, not a current itinerary.
What Butler announced
PerthNow reported the announcement on June 17, 2025, describing a national tour that would open in Bunbury on September 5. The return to touring with a band followed a gap since 2019; Bundaberg Now noted that Butler had played solo shows in 2024 during that period.
ABC Double J described the itinerary as covering at least 15 theatres and halls around Australia, including regional dates. “At least” is the reported minimum, not a confirmed exact count of every performance.
How the tour connected to PRISM
The planned Bunbury opening coincided with the announced September 5, 2025 release date for PRISM. Bundaberg Now described the record as the third season of Butler’s Four Season project, following Running River and Still Searching. Emma Donovan was identified as a special guest for the tour.

Why current listings may look different
Later listings on John Butler’s official tour page and Ticketmaster concern performances in 2026 and beyond, rather than the 2025 PRISM campaign. Ticketmaster labels its November 2026 listings as Jack Johnson’s SURFILMUSIC Tour. Those later events should not be read as evidence that the PRISM Tour is still upcoming or that its 2025 dates remain available.
