PerthNow’s August 9 report described a montage of family photographs and memories of Ava’s milestones, including a clip of Jock with young Alfie saying, “We love you Ava.” PerthNow reported that Ava was 22 at the time and that the video had received more than 500,000 views within hours. The family’s request for privacy
The Zonfrillo family confirmed Jock’s death in a statement published by Paramount ANZ on May 1, 2023, saying he had died the previous day. The statement asked the public to let the family grieve privately as they tried to find space to celebrate him as a husband, father, brother, son and friend. Paramount ANZ
Ava’s reported tribute was a personal remembrance shared several months later. The family’s earlier request for privacy is important context for reading it with care, rather than treating a private loss as an invitation to speculate.

What was reported about Jock Zonfrillo’s death
ABC reported that Zonfrillo died in Melbourne, aged 46. At the time of its report, police had not revealed a cause of death and said there were no suspicious circumstances. No cause should be inferred from those statements. ABC News

Zonfrillo became a judge on MasterChef Australia in 2019 and was known for championing Australian native ingredients in his restaurants. Paramount ANZ described him as a chef, author, philanthropist and judge. Paramount ANZ
