ABC pulled the November 6, 2025 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! from its schedule at the last minute and aired a repeat instead. The planned episode was expected to feature David Duchovny, Joe Keery, and musical guest Madison Beer. Subsequent reports described the postponement as involving a personal matter concerning Jimmy Kimmel, but neither ABC nor Kimmel publicly disclosed what that matter was.
This was an episode-level postponement, not evidence that Jimmy Kimmel Live! was permanently canceled. ABC continued to publish and stream episodes after the incident.
What happened to the November 6 episode?
The Thursday, November 6, 2025 broadcast of Jimmy Kimmel Live! was removed from ABC’s schedule late in the day. Rather than airing the advertised new episode, ABC showed a repeat of the October 28 broadcast, which featured Tessa Thompson, Daymond John, and The Beths.
The affected episode had been promoted with actor David Duchovny, actor Joe Keery, and musical guest Madison Beer. Beer said on social media that her performance had already been prerecorded and would be rescheduled because of “unforeseen circumstances.”

No public source identified in the available reporting explained the nature of the matter.
Was Jimmy Kimmel Live canceled permanently?
No. The available evidence supports describing the event as a single episode being pulled, postponed, or canceled at the last minute. It does not support saying that ABC permanently canceled the program.
On November 7, TV Insider reported that another repeat was expected that night while new episodes remained listed for the following week. ABC’s official show pages later continued to feature Jimmy Kimmel Live! episodes, interviews, clips, musical performances, and Hulu viewing information during 2026. What is confirmed—and what is not
| Supported by the reporting | Not established publicly |
|---|---|
| The November 6 episode did not air as originally scheduled. | The identity or details of the personal matter. |
| ABC aired a repeat of the October 28 broadcast instead. | Whether Kimmel personally missed a taping. |
| Duchovny, Keery, and Beer were announced guests for the affected episode. | Whether production stopped before taping or for another reason. |
| Beer’s musical performance had been prerecorded and was expected to be rescheduled. | Whether the entire episode had been taped. |
| Later reporting connected the postponement to a personal matter involving Kimmel. | Whether the episode later aired in its original form or was substantially edited. |
| The series continued after the one-night disruption. | Any medical, family, legal, or other private explanation. |
The distinction matters because “personal matter” is not an explanation of what happened. It is the limited description attributed to later media reports. Speculating that the matter involved Kimmel’s health, family, legal affairs, or anything else would go beyond the available evidence.

The episode postponement occurred shortly after a separate and much broader dispute involving the show in September 2025. ABC had announced an indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! following controversy over Kimmel’s remarks concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk. The Associated Press reported that the September action involved affiliate decisions, regulatory pressure, and ABC’s suspension announcement.
That September suspension should not be treated as the confirmed reason for the November 6 episode disruption. The two events were different:

- September 2025: an indefinite suspension publicly linked to controversy over Kimmel’s comments.
- November 6, 2025: one scheduled episode was pulled and replaced with a repeat; later reporting attributed the change to a personal matter involving Kimmel.
Nothing in the available evidence establishes that the November episode was removed because of the September controversy.

The most accurate way to describe the story
A precise summary is:
ABC pulled the November 6, 2025 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! at the last minute and aired a repeat instead. Reports later said the postponement involved a personal matter concerning Jimmy Kimmel, but ABC and Kimmel did not disclose further details.
That wording identifies the date, explains what viewers saw, distinguishes an episode postponement from a permanent cancellation, and avoids turning an unconfirmed private matter into speculation.
