Jess Eva and Norm Hogan said their romantic relationship ended in 2021, but they did not publicly disclose the split until April 2025. Eva described the breakup as the result of accumulated arguments and everyday pressures. At the time of the announcement, the former couple said they remained close and were co-parenting their two children.
When did Jess Eva and Norm Hogan split?
Eva told New Idea in an interview published on 21 April 2025, “Norm and I split three years ago now.” Nine’s report identifies the separation as having taken place in 2021. The breakup and the public announcement were therefore separate events: their romantic relationship had ended years before they spoke about it publicly.
Eva said they had not announced the separation at the time because they felt doing so would be “up ourselves.” That describes the reason they gave for not making a public announcement; it does not establish that they kept the split private from everyone in their lives.
Why did they end their relationship?
Eva said the pair had been fighting a lot and characterized the cause as “an accumulation of small things and pressures.” That is her account of how the relationship reached its end, rather than an independently established explanation.

They described the end of their romance as distinct from their feelings for each other. Eva said, “But we still love one another, we’re still the best of friends, and we are still family.” Hogan told New Idea, “The only thing that has changed about how we feel about each other is our relationship status.”
Were Jess and Norm still living together?
In the April 2025 interview, the pair were reported to be sharing their Sydney home, with separate bedrooms, while co-parenting their children, Freddie and Matilda. Hogan said he also spent time in Victoria helping care for his parents and stayed with Eva and the children when he was in Sydney.

Those are circumstances reported in 2025, not confirmation of their living arrangement or parenting schedule today. The interview also said they had met about 12 years earlier and had been engaged but never married.

Eva and Hogan became familiar to many viewers through The Block in 2018. They later worked together on the home-renovation show Budget Battlers. Their television partnership continued as a separate part of their public history from the relationship disclosure.
