Reports published later disagree about whether the design was changed or removed, so its current status is not settled.
What does Jennifer Lopez’s infinity tattoo mean?
Lopez revealed the design on Valentine’s Day in February 2023. News accounts described an infinity symbol incorporating her name and Affleck’s, with an arrow. In her caption, Lopez wrote “Commitment”; CBS News reproduced the longer message, “Commitment. Happy Valentine’s Day my love.” ABC News reported the reveal and caption, while CBS News covered the paired designs and her Valentine’s Day message.
That caption supports reading the tattoo as a gesture of commitment to their relationship. It does not establish that Lopez gave a more specific explanation for choosing the infinity symbol, arrow, or placement. Those elements may invite familiar interpretations, but attributing a particular personal symbolism to her would go beyond what she publicly said in the accounts of the reveal. Vogue also described the couple’s coordinated Valentine’s Day tattoos.
Which tattoo belonged to Ben Affleck?
The couple’s designs were coordinated but different. Lopez’s was the infinity design with their names and an arrow. Affleck’s separate tattoo showed two intersecting arrows and the initials J and B. The crossed-arrow design is his, not another tattoo on Lopez.

The distinction matters because Lopez has also spoken publicly about Affleck’s ink. In a 2016 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, she criticized his phoenix back tattoo, saying, “It’s awful! What are you doing?” and objecting to its many colors. ABC News reported her comments; they are her opinion of Affleck’s tattoo, not evidence that she had one herself.
Is the infinity tattoo still there?
Published accounts conflict, and they do not establish a definitive current status. In December 2025, Italy’s Corriere della Sera reported that the design appeared absent in a social video, while noting earlier occasions when makeup may have hidden it and discussing speculation about removal. In May 2026, Us Weekly reported that the infinity design was visible in a photo, with Affleck’s name covered. These reports do not establish when any alteration occurred or whether the tattoo was removed. Corriere della Sera’s December 2025 account and Us Weekly’s May 2026 account describe different sightings.
