Jennifer Lopez appears nude except for angel wings in the video for “In the Morning.” Lopez described the image as part of a story about recognizing a dark, one-sided relationship, accepting that you cannot change another person, and choosing self-worth by walking away.
What Jennifer Lopez wears in the scene
Vogue describes Lopez wearing Mother Plucker angel wings with “nothing underneath,” while People en Español describes her as appearing nude except for the wings. The sources establish how the staged image looks on screen; they do not specify any additional production details.
The wings are part of the video’s fantastical visual style, not simply a costume detail. Vogue calls the video a couture fantasy and identifies Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn as Lopez’s stylists. Other reported looks include an Iris van Herpen gown, a crystal dress by Augusto Manzanares, a white Marco Marco gown, a Graham Cruz top with a Lever Couture skirt, and a Manuel Albarran top with an Iggy Soliven mermaid tail. Later imagery includes a tiered feathered Valentino coat and a Marianna Harutunian crystal mask. Vogue’s video and fashion coverage details those looks.
What the “In the Morning” video means
Lopez said the video is “full of symbolism about a dark one-sided relationship and the realization that you can’t change anyone else… you can only change yourself.” She described growing wings and walking away from anyone or anything that does not value what you offer as the central idea. In that interpretation, the angel-wing transformation represents self-respect and the decision to leave a relationship that does not reciprocate.

The song reinforces the video’s insistence on consistency in love. Its lyric asks for declarations in the morning, not only in the evening or when someone wants the singer’s body. The artist and label described the song as demanding certainty in declarations of love, rather than assurances offered only when passions are high. The November 27, 2020 release announcement lists the song’s writers and producers: Jackson Foote, Johnny Simpson, James Abrahart (J Hart), Jennifer Lopez, Jeremy Dussolliet, Tim Sommers, Patrick Ingunza, and Daniel Rondon.
