What fear did Jennifer Garner face in Japan?
The account frames Garner’s challenge as trying foods she was not used to—not as a broader or formally diagnosed phobia. It says she ate ramen and tasted abalone during the trip, with the abalone becoming the defining moment.
What did she say about trying abalone?
According to an April 12, 2025, report, Garner said in the video: “This abalone was alive in front of us five minutes ago. We have to honor it by eating it.” The report also reproduces her caption: “Honor the life forces that feed us.” The article characterized the scene as “the triumph of the former picky eater.”
Where did Garner go on the trip?
The report says Garner posted about her “dream trip to Japan” on August 15, 2024. Its listed stops included Kyoto’s Tenryu-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples, as well as the 3D cat billboard in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district. The food she tried was part of that travel account.
