Their reported birth dates are May 22, 2008, and August 23, 2016, respectively. Because published accounts describe family and custody arrangements at different points in time, those details need to be read with their dates in view.
Who are Jelly Roll’s children?
Jelly Roll, whose legal name is Jason DeFord, has two children from previous relationships: daughter Bailee and son Noah. GMA identified both children in a June 2024 fatherhood interview. A June 2026 People article republished by Yahoo gives their full names as Bailee Ann and Noah Buddy.
| Child | Reported birth date | Age stated in dated coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Bailee Ann | May 22, 2008 (People, June 2026, republished by Yahoo) | 15 in Entertainment Tonight’s June 2023 account; 16 in GMA’s June 2024 report |
| Noah Buddy | August 23, 2016 (People, June 2026, republished by Yahoo) | 7 in GMA’s June 2024 report |
The ages above reflect what those outlets reported at the time, not a claim about their ages today.
What has been reported about Bailee’s custody?
Published descriptions differ by date and wording. Entertainment Tonight wrote in June 2023 that Jelly Roll had full custody of Bailee and was raising her with his wife, Bunnie XO. A People article republished by Yahoo in June 2026 described Jelly Roll and Bunnie as sharing primary custody.

Those accounts are snapshots from different publication dates; they do not establish the terms of a current custody order. The Associated Press reported in June 2026 that Jelly Roll had filed for divorce from Bunnie XO, with the filing listing May 9 as the separation date. That report concerns a filing, not a final divorce decree.
How has fatherhood shaped Jelly Roll’s story?
In Entertainment Tonight’s June 2023 account, Bailee was born while Jelly Roll was incarcerated. He recalled learning of her birth and thinking, “I have to figure this out right now.” The outlet reported that he met her after his release on her second birthday and that he credited her with influencing his album Whitsitt Chapel. These are reflections attributed to Jelly Roll in interview-based reporting.
