Why the win mattered to the series
The Television Academy’s 77th Emmy Awards recap describes Hiller as a first-time nominee and calls the award the first Emmy for Somebody Somewhere. The acting win gave the series its first victory at the Emmys after its two 2025 nominations.
The 2025 Emmy ceremony
The 77th Emmy Awards honored television programming and individual achievements from the 2024–2025 season. The ceremony took place on September 14, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Comedian Nate Bargatze hosted, and CBS broadcast the event live. The Academy published its recap the following day.

Where to find Hiller’s acceptance speech
The Television Academy has an official acceptance video titled “Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series: 77th Emmy Awards,” which it identifies as Hiller accepting the award for Somebody Somewhere. The Academy also has a separate Thank You Cam page featuring Hiller after his win. The pages identify the videos but do not provide a transcript, so their descriptions alone do not establish the exact words he said.

Warner Bros. Discovery described the series as following Sam, a Kansan grappling with loss and acceptance who finds community through singing. Its August 26, 2024 announcement called season three the show’s final season and said it would air on HBO and be available to stream on Max. That release is historical distribution information, not confirmation of current availability in a particular country or subscription plan.
