When Greg Page collapsed during a Wiggles charity concert in January 2020, Jeff Fatt and Murray Cook initially thought he was exhausted. They only grasped how serious the emergency was as others worked to revive him. Fatt and Cook revisited the frightening night in a 2023 interview about the documentary Hot Potato: The Story of the Wiggles.
Why the Wiggles were performing together
The concert was a January 2020 charity event raising money for bushfire relief. The original Wiggles had reunited for the performance, where Page—who had previously retired from the group—collapsed.

What Fatt and Cook thought when Page went down
Fatt recalled that the band did not immediately understand the danger. “We first noticed he went down, and the thought was that he was just tired and exhausted,” he told PerthNow’s Clare Rigden.
Cook described the uncertainty that followed, before they knew whether Page would survive: “On the night, before we knew whether he was going to pull through even, it was so gut-wrenching and so upsetting — we were all in tears.”

How Page was resuscitated
According to PerthNow’s account, an off-duty nurse in the audience joined Wiggles drummer Steve Pace and staff member Kimmy Antonelli in performing CPR. They used a defibrillator three times to resuscitate Page. The account makes clear that the bandmates’ initial assumption of exhaustion came before they understood the severity of the collapse.

In Hot Potato: The Story of the Wiggles, Fatt and Cook look back on the incident alongside the group’s early history and the transition to newer members. Fatt said watching the events again was difficult: “It’s not a comfortable thing to have to live through — and we are glad that Greg did, in fact, live through it.”
