Who was Jeff Baena?
Baena was an independent filmmaker who wrote and directed five films, four of which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, according to the Associated Press. His work included Life After Beth, The Little Hours and Spin Me Round. He also co-wrote David O. Russell’s 2004 film I Heart Huckabees.

How did Baena and Aubrey Plaza work together?
Baena and Aubrey Plaza were married and recurring creative collaborators. The Associated Press reported that Plaza appeared in four of Baena’s five films. Baena described the partnership in an interview: “The opportunities to create together, to do something creative where we’re both fulfilled, it’s like, how rare is that? She’s down and she’s so talented, so I’m really lucky,” he said.
